Despite a hot week and a string of three-putts, the South Adams Starfires claimed victory Thursday night at Arbor Trace over the Eastbrook Panthers by a comfortable 26 strokes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was a very hot day,” noted head coach Chris Toledo. “The girls struggled with their irons today.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toledo noted that the team’s practice and match schedule had been interrupted this week with cancelations and heat warnings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I believe a lot of it had to do with taking two days off,” said the coach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julia Arnold claimed medalist honors with a solid round of 46. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Julia is having a good season, but still dealing with penalty strokes. That’s the only thing holding her back from a great season,” admitted Toledo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coach commended the rest of the team, including debutante Margo Bernard, for their scores, but said putting is still an area for improvement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Those three putts drive a coach crazy,” said Toledo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
