Thursday’s match between Bluffton and Bellmont went well into a third hour of play in the No. 2 singles match, but the final result was never in doubt as the Tigers dominated the Braves, sweeping the other four matches and officially locking down the 5-0 sweep in the marathon singles match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Layne LeMaster took the opening set for Bellmont against Jacob Ribich, but Ribich got a break of serve in the second set and won 6-4, forcing a third. Ribich had more gas in the tank when the match finally ended, winning the third at love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Layne finally met his match in terms of patience,” admitted Bellmont coach Kyle Arnold. “It’s tough to wear a kid like Layne down, so credit to him for playing that well for that long to beat Layne.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
