Adams County Historical Society officials report \u201ca great turnout\u201d at the August 11 reopening of the Dugan Museum in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restoration efforts had delayed the normal summer opening of the museum until the August 11 Open House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located at 420 W. Monroe St., the museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. this Sunday. Admission will be $5 per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CARS & MORE: Meanwhile, officials are gearing up for the historical society’s annual car show, and beginning to plan for a popular October event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car show will be held Sunday, Sept. 8 (Sept. 15 rain date)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

on the museum grounds from 1 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first floor of the museum will open for touring during those hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be no admission charge. Popcorn and sno cones will be available and door prizes will be awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Museum officials said vintage cars of 1950 and older will be on display, along with antique fire trucks and motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the street from the museum that day, the St. Marys Fall Fest will be holding its second day of events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HAUNTING: Officials are also making plans for the annual Halloween Nights at the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum is completely transformed into a haunted mansion for an event which has proven to be quite popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The haunted nights will be held every Friday and Saturday night in October, 7-10 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
