The music was gold, the weather wasn’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fleetwood Gold brought a grand version of Fleetwood Mac’s music to the Madison St. Plaza stage in Decatur Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was the third-year band’s first appearance in Decatur and a large turnout of fans wasn’t disappointed, loud applause after numerous tunes demonstrating its appreciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no applause for the weather, though, as light rain fell off and on during the two-hour concert \u2013 and became much heavier during the final 20 or so minutes, driving away many of those who were not under the large tent on the plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, some of the fans jumped onto the dancing area in front of the stage and rocked away during the concert, rain be damned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erick Prehm, as Stevie Nicks, thanked the fans more than once for staying the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The showers kept Phil McDonald busy. The Decatur resident, who often handles the sound equipment for the Chamber-sponsored concerts, was hustling to and from the stage, trying to keep the band’s equipment dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was the third time in 11 Thursday night concerts this year that rain was a problem, shortening the Hubie Ashcraft concert on June 13 and dampening the Bon Jovi music on the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no problem with the music, though. Some of it even involved the talents of Peter Green, the guitarist\/singer who founded Fleetwood Mac in in London in 1967.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
