The following is a release from the Decatur Police Department late Friday morning regarding their investigation from an incident that happened early Sunday morning…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at approximately 1:49 AM, officers with the Decatur Police Department responded to a reported physical altercation in a parking lot behind a local establishment in the 100 block of N. 2nd Street. When officer\u2019s arrived on scene they located two individuals, both of whom were lying in the parking lot, unconscious. One of these individuals was transported by emergency personnel to an area hospital due to numerous injuries sustained during this incident. This individual remains hospitalized, and is in stable condition. The other subject refused medical treatment at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ensuing investigation has led to the arrest of one individual, 29-year-old Simon Solis for Aggravated Battery as a Level 3 Felony. This remains an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact detectives with the Decatur Police Department.
