{"id":18036,"date":"2024-07-30T05:55:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-30T09:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=18036"},"modified":"2024-07-30T05:55:09","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T09:55:09","slug":"decatur-street-paving-start-coming-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/30\/decatur-street-paving-start-coming-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Decatur street paving start coming soon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brooks Construction Co. is expected to begin Decatur&#8217;s latest street paving project this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City Operations Manage Jeremy Gilbert told city council at its latest meeting the Fort Wayne company is expected to start work on upgrading handicap ramps around August 1st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"513\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/19C94FA8B4644B95BBA2EF6094E9C991.jpg?resize=513%2C384&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18037\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/19C94FA8B4644B95BBA2EF6094E9C991.jpg?w=513&amp;ssl=1 513w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/19C94FA8B4644B95BBA2EF6094E9C991.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Riverside Center lot to get new coat<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once that portion of the project is completed, around August 18th or 19th, Brooks will turn to milling (removing the top layer) and repaving, Gilbert said..<br>\u201cHopefully, they can get done by Labor Day,\u201d Gilbert noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brooks won the project with a low bid of $886,747.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Community Crossings grant amounts to $810,508.10.
