The 5th annual T.J.C. wiffle ball tournament was held on Saturday, July 13, at REV Sports
Complex in Decatur. This is a great event remembering and honoring three boys who sadly lost their
lives in a tragic accident on June 7, 2020: Trevor Ortiz, Jordan Fuelling, and Connor Brite.
The event, headed up by a committee of some friends of the boys, along with the three families,
would not be a success without the help and support of many! Not only were there fifteen GOLD
sponsors at $500 each, but eight SILVER sponsors at $250 each! There were many other generous
donations as well. The committee would like to sincerely thank these sponsors and donors once again!
We would also like to thank the volunteers the day of the event: Those helping with food, shirts,
registering teams, announcing, and umping. Once again, thanks to Sport Form for making the shirts in
such a short period of time! Lastly, thanks to all who played or came to support the cause, even in
extremely hot conditions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sixteen teams played, and it was full of action and great competition! Pool play was four pools
of four teams before the double-elimination tournament. On the winning team were: Brett Dodane,
Parker Tracey, Chase Luginbill, Kade Fuelling, Paul Scheumann, Jack Scheumann, Max Hamilton, Kord
Fuelling, Meghan Busick, Liz Scheumann, Emily Bergman, Macy Montgomery, and Sami Christen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our goal this year was $13,000, and with a last-minute anonymous donation of $177, this goal
was reached! These proceeds go to the ACCF for annual scholarships in the boys\u2019 names, as well as
ongoing renovations at Hanna Nutman Park, a facility where wiffle ball is held, and one where the boys
played ball as kids!
We can\u2019t thank you enough for the wonderful community support for such a good cause!
Be sure to keep your ears and eyes open for next year\u2019s event, which will likely be Saturday, July 12. If
you\u2019d like to show support for this cause yet this year, please consider the golf outing on Saturday,
August 3. There are also shirts leftover from this year\u2019s wiffle ball. They are marked down to $10. Please
