Ruth E. Coil, 92, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Sunday afternoon, July 14, 2024, at Adams Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born on November 29, 1931, in Pleasant Mills, Indiana to the late Carl Ehrsam and Cleo (Foor) Ehrsam.                            <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was united in marriage to Edwin E. Coil on April 22, 1951, at Pleasant Mills Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was a member of the Pleasant Mills Methodist Church and the Daughters of the Nile (Teti Sheri Temple No. 60). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth graduated from Pleasant Mills High School in 1949. Along with being a homemaker she worked at General Electric in Decatur for 17 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is survived by son, Rick (Jean) Coil of White Lake, Michigan; son, Eric (Sherry) Coil of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Denise (Jeff) Alberding of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Alice Ehrsam of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Betty Howell of Wapakoneta, Ohio; brother-in-law, Rex Coil of Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren, Christie (Neil) Komer, Aimee (Brad) Badarak, Lance (Kaitlin Paul) Coil, and Blake (Samantha Ortiz) Coil; two step-grandchildren, Jordan Lister and Jennifer Starlin; seven great-grandchildren, Landon and Caroline Komer, Trevor and Oliver Badarak, Remi, Edwin and Emmett Coil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth is preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Ehrsam; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Gehron, and Teresa Leppla; and three brothers\u2013in\u2013law, Richard, Larry, and LaVerne Coil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana with Pastor John McCullough officiating. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preferred memorials can be made to the  Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church or Shriners Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
