The Club updated the old playground equipment, which had become a safety hazard. The new, larger equipment has a tower, several swings, two slides, a tic tac toe panel and a telescope. To help ensure safety for people using the playground equipment, the ground beneath the play area was padded with wooden mulch to provide a safe, shock-absorbing base for the play area.

Shown are members of the Union Township Lions Club with the updated playground equipment at the Union Township Hall, located north of Decatur. These members are Derryl Grote, vice president, Richard Marbach, Duane Franz, treasurer, Scott Marbach, secretary & grant writer, and Tim Grote.

Scott Marbach, Union Township Lions Club, grant writer, expressed his appreciation to the ACCF for this support.

Ken Ketzler, ACCF Board member and grants committee member, noted that the ACCF is pleased to support the Lions Club efforts to provide safe equipment for the children to exercise and play.

This ACCF grant was made possible through the John and Kay Boch Fund.
