Mom and her brother, Larry, were brought up in a loving, God centered home in rural Adams County. She graduated from Peasant Mills High School in 1961. It was there that she was voted “Best All Around” and frankly, we couldn’t agree more! Apparently, her high school sweetheart, Jack Butler, thought so too. They were married and have four beautiful children together.

In earlier years, mom was a “stay at home” mom and babysat for several families during that time. Her later years were spent working at Adams Memorial Hospital in the laundry department. She retired in 2008 after 20 years of service. After retirement, the only “job” was to be a Grandma. She also enjoyed driving her Amish friends around.

Mom was known for her love of the following: Every shade of purple, Elvis, Gospel, old country music, word searches, Silly Putty and Bloonies, Hershey’s chocolate bars, and Walmart sugar cookies.

Mom wanted to stay with us longer, but cancer doesn’t play fair and is a tough opponent. She didn’t give up without a fight though. She is the strongest woman we have ever known. How blessed we are to get to call her Mom and Grandma.

She leaves behind some pretty special people that will carry her in their hearts always and forever: Troy Butler, Tina Butler, Trisha Tinkham, and Natalie Dague. Grandchildren: Cody (Amanda) Butler, Beau Butler, Travis (Amanda) Bixler, Ben (Cambi) Tinkham, Emiliee Tinkham, Ryan Tinkham, Sydney (Chris) Anderson, and Nick Dague. Great-Grandchildren: Kailey McClure, Kenzie McClure, Kinlee Tinkham, Cullen Butler, Kayce Butler, Jace Tinkham, Judson Cole, Addison Sturwold, and Braxton Phillips.

Mom is finally reunited with her parents and brother, Larry Wable.

Please come and share your memories of Mom with us at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 1p.m. to 5p.m.. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Josh Butler officiating. A private burial at Decatur Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to ACCF-Cancer Fund, Paws of Adams County, or Heart to Heart Hospice.

Carol Louise (Wable) Butler, 80, of Decatur, Indiana was escorted through the gates of Heaven by all of

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

8
23
post-17674","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-obituaries","tag-obit
["GET
