{"id":17629,"date":"2024-07-11T09:41:31","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T13:41:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=17629"},"modified":"2024-07-11T09:41:36","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T13:41:36","slug":"decatur-officials-check-out-ditch-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/11\/decatur-officials-check-out-ditch-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Decatur officials check out ditch area"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mayor Dan Rickord and other city officials have taken an \u201cup close and personal\u201d look at a situation involving a proposed new addition to the Lake Shores housing development on the east end of Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To move ahead with the expansion, Brett Miller recently told council, a ditch, needs to be cleaned and moved \u2026 partly onto city property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miller, owner-operator of Miller Land Surveying, was representing the Drier family which owns and has developed Lake Shores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Miller made the proposal at the June 18 meeting of council, he said the Driers were hoping the city would turn over to them the small piece of land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mayor Rickord, however, said one of his concerns was how many trees would be lost.
