Not, that is, if you checked out the Madison St. Plaza Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temperatures in the low 90s as summer officially moved in hindered not one bit the turnout to hear one of the most popular bands in the Chamber of Commerce’s annual summer concert series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plaza was jammed with music lovers who came to hear E5C4P3, which plays the music of Journey. And no one left disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by Jason Kelty, the 52-year-old Clevelander who sounds as much like Steven Perry, Journey’s lead singer, as Steven Perry, the band performed for over two hours, around just one break \u2013 despite the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band wound up with two of the greatest Journey hits, \u201cDon’t Stop Believin’\u201d and \u201cWheel in the Sky\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(By the way, Perry, the principal songwriter for most of Journey’s songs throughout his tenure with the band, is 75 now and can be found on his website.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chamber Executive Director Craig Coshow said no special provisions other than a large fan were made to help the band beat the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nor did the heat deter the dancing \u2013 including one guy who did a number of handstands during his individual dancing in front of the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was one minor problem which local police \u2013 including two as security for the concert \u2013 quietly handled without incident. The show began with a performance by Savannah Zimmerman, an 11-year-old student at St. Joseph Catholic School in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
