Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports that his office is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Saturday evening, June 1, 2024.\u00a0Grey advised that Mercer County Central Dispatch received a 911 call\u00a0at 4:17 PM\u00a0of a single vehicle crash that occurred on Smith Rd, north of St Rte 117, in Dublin Township.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investigation revealed that a 2020 gray Indian motorcycle driven by 65 year old Vincent E Blossom of Rockford, Ohio was travelling southbound on Smith Rd when he failed to negotiate a curve causing him to run off the east side of the roadway and strike a pole.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blossom was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mercer County Sheriff\u2019s Office was assisted at the scene by Rockford EMS and the Rockford Fire Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This crash remains under investigation at this time and will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor\u2019s Office for review.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
