Monday, May 1, 2023 was the date many seniors and parents anticipated for years. The Adams Central scholarship event for current seniors began with welcoming comments by AC guidance counselor, Megan Workinger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Workinger celebrated this gathering with recognition to the Adams Central (AC) Scholarship Committee, particularly Mike Cooper, chairperson, and Steve Biberstine, president of the Adams County Community Foundation, along with Coni Mayer, ACCF director and Deb Cook, ACCF Scholarship administrator, AC guidance department, Shar Byerly, local businesses, teachers, parents and students.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coni Mayer, ACCF director, lauded the students and their parents. She added that the Adams County Community Foundation scholarship opportunities began long before the awards event.\u00a0A program at the Adams Central cafetorium was an event that many anticipated for months.\u00a0Many AC seniors, parents, and grandparents attended the 2023 Adams Central Scholarship awards event to witness the 41 students awarded with financial aid for their coming college enrollment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eight-page scholarship application (with two required letters of recommendation and six-semester transcripts) was due mid-January, and seniors learned of their rewards three months later.\u00a0With over $90,000 in Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) and community awards presented, Deb Cook, ACCF, scholarship administrator, reported that there were 90 awards presented from 38 ACCF named funds presented to 41 Adams Central seniors.\u00a0Most students were recognized with multiple awards.\u00a0The scholarships and the scholars are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening was a celebration of the seniors and their parents with the Adams Central Scholarship Foundation providing snacks for the social gathering following the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
