{"id":16646,"date":"2024-05-23T09:36:24","date_gmt":"2024-05-23T13:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=16646"},"modified":"2024-05-23T09:36:25","modified_gmt":"2024-05-23T13:36:25","slug":"decatur-skate-park-begins-taking-shape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/05\/23\/decatur-skate-park-begins-taking-shape\/","title":{"rendered":"Decatur skate park begins taking shape"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A chance meeting last summer is beginning to produce some tangible results as work begins on a skate park in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concrete work was scheduled to start Wednesday on the west side of North Ward Park, near the city swimming pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some meager wooden equipment has been situated on the site for a number of years, but the new setup will bring vast improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire investment could amount to $35,000, with federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) being used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"238\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/D45161A630834E8386B658A16408A03D.jpg?resize=640%2C238&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16647\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/D45161A630834E8386B658A16408A03D.jpg?w=776&amp;ssl=1 776w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/D45161A630834E8386B658A16408A03D.jpg?resize=300%2C111&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/D45161A630834E8386B658A16408A03D.jpg?resize=768%2C285&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some $20,000 has already been spent or accounted for and city council, at its Tuesday night meeting, approved another $10,000, if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new equipment \u2013 quarter pipes, ramps, kickers, a pyramid, etc. \u2013 will be concrete.
