Aidan Zimmerman earned a complete-game victory Friday night in the NE8 as the Bellmont Braves beat DeKalb 4-3 to move to fourth place in the conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a bit of early trouble, the Braves trailed 3-0, but scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning. That set up senior Keagan Martin to be the hero with the bat and he hit a home run toward Monroe Street and over the left field fence for the eventual winning run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zimmerman allowed just five hits and two of his three runs allowed were unearned. He walked just one and struck out 11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most importantly, Zimmerman set down six in a row to finish off the game after Martin’s home run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Braves got two hits from Layne LeMaster and a big, two-RBI single by Andrew James in the fourth inning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
