{"id":15794,"date":"2024-05-06T15:06:51","date_gmt":"2024-05-06T19:06:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=15794"},"modified":"2024-05-06T15:06:52","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T19:06:52","slug":"museum-projects-one-down-one-ongoing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/05\/06\/museum-projects-one-down-one-ongoing\/","title":{"rendered":"Museum projects: one down, one ongoing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One project has been completed and another is ongoing at the Adams County Historical Society&#8217;s Dugan Museum in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Society officials praised the efforts of Robin&#8217;s Stained Glass Studio in Fort Wayne for helping recreate leaded glass patterned sidelights in the museum&#8217;s vestibule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"274\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/unnamed-23.jpg?resize=274%2C577&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15797\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/unnamed-23.jpg?w=274&amp;ssl=1 274w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/unnamed-23.jpg?resize=142%2C300&amp;ssl=1 142w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis was not a short nor easy project, but the end results were beautiful,\u201d officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also thanked the Adams County Community Foundation for a grant which helped finish the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The original patterned sidelights were stolen many years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, two historical society board members, Jack Bertsch and Walt Reiter, sanded the solid oak floors throughout the first floor of the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"396\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/9764783C55AA45A59E5CE830CFB665FD.jpg?resize=396%2C384&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15795\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/9764783C55AA45A59E5CE830CFB665FD.jpg?w=396&amp;ssl=1 396w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/9764783C55AA45A59E5CE830CFB665FD.jpg?resize=300%2C291&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Included are the cigar room, library, foyer, inglenook, dining room, vestibule and grand stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staining the floors recently started and will likely take up most of the month of May, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn between sanding and staining, other volunteers have stepped up to devoid the rooms of all the sanding dust.
