Bellmont did not have the answers for Ava Poulson Thursday as they were held to just three hits in a 3-0 shutout loss on the road at Huntington North in NE8 play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MaryKate Scheumann was matching Poulson pitch for pitch through the first three innings, but the Vikings got an RBI double from Poulson and the ace helped her cause further by scoring on a sacrifice fly later in the fourth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves spoiled their chances to get to Poulson in the early innings, making outs on the base paths in three of the first four innings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna Kalhoefer homered on the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth inning and the Braves only managed one more baserunner, a single by MK Scheumann, the rest of the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The win keeps Huntington North in the NE8 title race, along with the favorites, Leo. Those two schools will play Monday in a de facto championship game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmont drops to 0-3 in the conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
