{"id":15392,"date":"2024-04-28T08:02:33","date_gmt":"2024-04-28T12:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=15392"},"modified":"2024-04-28T08:02:35","modified_gmt":"2024-04-28T12:02:35","slug":"costly-problem-wasnt-hot-coils-need-cooling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/28\/costly-problem-wasnt-hot-coils-need-cooling\/","title":{"rendered":"Costly problem wasn&#8217;t; hot coils need cooling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A couple of loose bolts have solved what loomed as a possible costly repair or replace project for the City of Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At an early April board of works meeting, Fire Chief Jeff Sheets informed the board of a problem with a transfer switch on a generator behind the fire station was not working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheets said he was bringing in someone to determine what needed to be done. If replacements were needed, the costs could range from $9,300 to over $16,000m, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, Sheets delivered the good news at the latest board meeting: two loose bolts were found, tightened, \u201cand it&#8217;s working fine!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HOT STUFF: Overheated coils in air conditioning units at the wastewater treatment plant on Monmouth Road need replacing as soon as possible, Infrastructure Manager Josh Zimmerman told the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the coils were in danger of burning up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zimmerman received a quote from Don Myers Plumbing, Electric and Air Conditioning in Berne which would replace the coils at a cost of $10,531.79.
