Lane Lewis had no problem keeping the Bellmont Braves off the base paths Thursday night in a 6-1 Norwell win at home, continuing the Braves woes at the plate as the Knights moved to 8-4, with more wins than any other team in the conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lewis struck out seven, gave up just two hits and allowed one unearned run to earn the victory. He took a no-hitter into the fifth inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beau Baker took the loss for the Braves, throwing three innings and allowing five runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keagan Martin pitched in relief and struck out three in three innings of work, allowing one unearned run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The home Knights scored in each of the first three innings off Baker, taking advantage of a pair of walks in the first inning and pouncing on a Braves error in the second. Norwell pulled off a successful squeeze bunt for their run in the third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Layne LeMaster scored the Braves’ only run in the fifth after singling to right. Jack Scheumann knocked him in with a base hit. They were the only two hits the Braves had Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves have now lost three in a row and have just one win on the year. They will have a chance to get back on track against Wayne Saturday with a doubleheader. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
