South Adams traveled to Ohio to participate in the Ansonia Relays Friday night and finished in fourth place, beating out ACAC rival Jay County. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team will be back at home Tuesday night when they host Southern Wells. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes & Results: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The Starfires’ 4×800 team ran their best time of the year and finished in third place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Coach Anderson’s 4×400 team also ran a season best, taking second to the hosts, Ansonia, by a quarter of a second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Uri Gutierrez had the most impressive performance of the night for the Stars, winning the individual competition for the discus with an outstanding throw of 141 feet, a new PR. Gutierrez had not gone over 130 prior to Friday night. He and teammate AJ Thompson finished second as a team. Thompson had his best throw of the season at 100 feet even. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
