South Adams took a 5-1 lead into the top of the seventh inning against Homestead Tuesday after Gracy Bixler and Addie Baker teamed up to keep the Spartans in check for most of the contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Spartans did manage to score twice in the seventh, but Baker got a strikeout to end the game and get the save in a 5-3 win. Baker struck out seven batters in her three innings of work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Macy Pries was the catalyst for the SA offense with a 3 for 4 night, while Bekah Patterson had a triple and a single, scoring both times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Homestead managed just five singles on the night and the Starfires did not make an error behind their two pitchers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
