Holding Eastbrook to just two hits, the Adams Central Jets should have come away with a home victory Monday, but five errors meant that, despite out-hitting the Panthers 8-2, the scoreboard read: Eastbrook 5, Adams Central 4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dakota Perry was on his game for his five innings of work as the AC starter. He struck out eight and allowed just two singles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eastbrook successfully executed a double steal in the top of the third inning with runners at the corners, drawing the throw to second as the runner from third went home. That scored the game’s first run, but the Jets matched that accomplishment by mimicking their opponents, pulling off their own double steal to tie the game after three with Keegan Bluhm scoring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eastbrook loaded the bases in the top of the fifth with a walk, an error and a single. An RBI single and a productive groundout gave the visitors a 3-1 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Hamilton came on in relief of Perry and quickly hit two batters. He did get a strikeout on a full count, but allowed a run to score on a wild pitch, prompting the Jets to go with Carson Ross on the mound. Ross got out of the inning, but allowed his inherited runner to score to put Eastbrook up 5-1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adams Central mounted a rally in response with four base hits in a row, beginning with a triple from Jack Hamilton. That closed the score to 5-4, but they could not find the tying run, dropping to 5-2 on the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
