Neaderhiser, 85, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was born on December 3, 1938 in Huntington, Indiana to the late Kenneth G. Salter and the late Mary Jane (Covey) Salter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara was united in marriage to Paul C. Neaderhiser on May 10, 1997 in Oatman Arizona, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, and she served as a cook at Zion Lutheran School. &nbsp;She was a member of the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur and the Moose Lodge #1311 in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Huntington High School. &nbsp;She worked for many years as a bartender at the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur, where she retired after 20 years. &nbsp;She also worked as a waitress at Preble Gardens and the Rheinlander. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara was a volunteer for Family Hospice for many years. &nbsp;She also volunteered at Woodcrest, where she enjoyed helping with Bingo. &nbsp;She was an avid sports fan, and loved Cubs baseball and IU basketball. &nbsp;She loved to read and watch TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors include her daughter, Michael Ann Pearson-Kuss of Decatur, Indiana; son, Timothy J. (Kathy) Sands of Decatur, Indiana; brother, James Salter of Columbia City, Indiana; granddaughter, Amber Jean McCulumm; granddaughter, Lauren Marie Crammer; granddaughter, Olivia Janet Ritter; and four great grandchildren, Julie, Amelia, Eloise, and Mia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to her parents and husband Paul, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, James Sands; her second husband, Herbert Pearson; her daughter, Julie Pearson on July 9, 2000; her sister, Susie Chapin in 1999; and her brother, Jerry Salter in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. &nbsp;Burial will take place at a later date at Lancaster Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials can be given to Zion Lutheran School or Shriners Hospitals for Children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements by Zwick and Jahn Funeral Homes of Decatur, Indiana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barbara A.
