They&#8217;re cleaning up streams, rivers \u2026 I think a lot of people don&#8217;t realize how much they&#8217;re doing,\u201d Mayor Dan Rickord said of the Adams County Regional Sewer District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rickord&#8217;s comments came at a recent city council meeting as the district&#8217;s superintendent, Nathan Scherer (photo), brought to council a detailed report of what his organization is doing throughout the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"286\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/unnamed-8-1.jpg?resize=286%2C480&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/unnamed-8-1.jpg?w=286&amp;ssl=1 286w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/unnamed-8-1.jpg?resize=179%2C300&amp;ssl=1 179w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 286px) 100vw, 286px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Scherer told council that Decatur&#8217;s wastewater treatment plant is currently servicing 976 homes in the county, with another 360 homes targeted for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report showed the district has 119 customers in the Monmouth area; 124 in the Arcadia Village and Pleasant Mills area; 88 in the Bobo\/US 33\/Salem area; 103 in Linn Grove; and 138 in Preble and Peterson, with 12 of those yet to be completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, there are 141 customers in the areas of Barrington Woods and Clem&#8217;s Lake, with one to be completed; 79 customers in the Sunnybrook Addition, with 20 in need of completion; 90 in Oakwood Addition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, 39 in Magley, where billing began Oct. 1; 61 customers in the Winchester Road area who have received notices to connect; and 96 customers in Clem&#8217;s Lake South, not yet started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By BOB SHRALUKA WZBD.com \u201cI appreciate everything they&#8217;re doing.
