Bellmont earned their first conference win of the season, going 3-2 over Columbia City on a chilly evening on the road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olivia Selking, Emy Faurote, and Leila Jin swept the singles courts in straight sets to secure victory for the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmont senior Emy Faurote secured a key break of serve in the second set and went on to beat her Columbia City opponent as the Braves won 3-2. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll three girls won their first set quickly but fell behind in the second,\u201d noted coach Kyle Arnold after the win. \u201cOlivia was down 1-4 in her second set before storming back to claim the set 6-4. Emy was down 4-5, but broke her opponent’s serve and won the next two games to finish 7-5 in the second set. Leila fell behind 2-3 in the second before rattling off four straight games to win 6-3.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves had to tweak their lineup with Kaelyn Snyder\u2019s typical partner, Alyssa Coffey, out with an illness. In stepped freshman Lillian Jin and the team played well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
