Bellmont began the day in sixth place out of the 32 teams with 95 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heading into the placement round, the Braves are in seventh place with 118 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmont finished with a solid seventh place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four wrestlers are still alive for the Braves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

165-Duke Myers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Semifinal-Duke will wrestle #1 Anthony Rinehart of Crown Point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rinehart used great defense to defeat Myers 5-0, scoring two takedowns and riding out Duke for the win. Duke is still guaranteed sixth place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consolation semifinal-Duke will wrestle Will Kennedy of Mishawaka, a senior who is 20-2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duke needs the ultimate tiebreaker, but got the escape when he needed it and advances to wrestle for 3rd\/4th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3\/4th Place Match-Duke has to settle for fourth place at 165 with a 5-0 loss to Evan Roudebush of Bloomington South. Roudebush took Myers to his back with a four-point move in the first period and it was all he needed for the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

175-Xavior Palacios<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consolation Round-Xavior will wrestle Matt Levitz of Prairie Heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palacios won in convincing fashion with a couple of nice takedowns and some great riding, beating the #8 wrestler in the semi-state and advancing into the consolation quarterfinals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consolation Semifinal-Xavior will face the #1 seed in this tournament, Brenton Russel of Warren Central. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russell pins Palacios in the first period and X will have to settle for 5th or 6th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With his opponent injured, Palacios takes fifth place with an injury default victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

190-Cole Mendez<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Semifinal-Cole Mendez will wrestle #2-ranked Luke Penola of Zionsville. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penola took Mendez down at will and finished Cole off with a pin, but Cole is still guaranteed sixth place. Consolation semifinal-Cole will wrestle Keith Miller of NorthWood for a chance to wrestle for 3rd\/4th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keith Miller scored nearfall in the third period and took out Cole, knocking him into the 5th\/6th match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cole had a rematch with Donovan Blair of Wawasee and finished in sixth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

215-Keagan Martin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Semifinal-Devin Kendrex of Mt. Vernon (Fortville) will be Keagan’s opponent this morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keagan gives up the opening takedown but fights back to pick up a huge win, 8-6, over his nemesis. He will wrestle the defending state champ in the final!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
