Bellmont swept the singles matches Thursday night at South Adams to beat the home Starfires on a blustery night, 3-2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leila Jin won her match at No. 3 singles to help the Bellmont cause Thursday. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWind was a huge factor in the match tonight!\u201d proclaimed BHS coach Kyle Arnold after the match. \u201cComing mostly out of the south, the strategy for play changed as the players changed sides. A lot of girls found out how much the wind can either carry the ball or knock it down. Lobs was a large part of the doubles strategy while short and low was the strategy for singles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The senior leadership of Olivia Selking and Emy Faurote was a key factor in the victory, noted the coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emy Faurote won the crucial match at No. 2 singles to give Bellmont the victory over sectional and county rival South Adams. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOlivia and Leila continued to play solid winning tennis at 1 and 3 singles respectively, winning in straight sets. Emy Faurote picked up her first win at 2 singles of the year after starting the year mostly at 1 doubles.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both teams were scheduled to play this Saturday in Fort Wayne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
