{"id":11141,"date":"2023-12-26T15:19:05","date_gmt":"2023-12-26T20:19:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=11141"},"modified":"2023-12-26T15:19:06","modified_gmt":"2023-12-26T20:19:06","slug":"doris-elaine-foster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/26\/doris-elaine-foster\/","title":{"rendered":"Doris Elaine Foster"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.batesvilletechnology.com\/fh_live\/15900\/15910\/images\/obituaries\/8794996.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:229px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gone but not forgotten, Doris Elaine Foster, 80, passed away at 9:06 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 following an extended illness at her residence in North Manchester, Indiana \u2013 the same day in which her husband was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doris was a farmer\u2019s daughter, a wife, a mother, a caretaker and your best friend. &nbsp;She was born on July 4, 1943, the daughter of David Schindler and Irene (Affolder) Schindler. &nbsp;In 1961, she was in the graduating class from Geneva High School. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1962, she was united in marriage to Richard Foster at the West Missionary Church in Berne. &nbsp;The newlyweds resided at Selfridge Air Force Base on the banks of Lake St. Claire just north of Detroit, Michigan. &nbsp;Following Richard\u2019s completion of his service to the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller, they returned to Berne. &nbsp;Richard preceded her in death on February 2, 1982.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard and Doris were the owners of Hilldale Motel and Mobile Home Park in Wabash for 46 years, raising four children who also were devoted helpers to the family. &nbsp;They include daughter, Kathleen (Curt) Hullinger of North Manchester, IN; son, Jeffery (Stephanie) Foster of LaFontaine, IN; daughter, Jennifer Foster of North Manchester, IN; son, Michael (Toni) Foster of Warsaw, IN. &nbsp;Her children blessed her with six grandchildren: &nbsp;Clarence Hullinger, Kathryn Hullinger, Mitchell Foster, Allie Foster, Waverly Foster, and Adilynn Foster. &nbsp;She is also survived by her oldest brother, Arthur Schindler, of Berne and sister-in-law, Carolyn Schindler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doris was preceded in death by her parents along with her husband and also two brothers, William Schindler and Gary Schindler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funeral services for Doris will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Home, Yager \u2013 Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne with Life Celebrant Dave McIntire officiating. &nbsp;Burial will follow the service at MRE Cemetery in Berne next to her husband. &nbsp;Friends and family will be received from 12:30 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service also at the funeral home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials in Doris\u2019 memory may be directed to the National Arbor Day Foundation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gone but not forgotten, Doris Elaine Foster, 80, passed away at 9:06 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[23],"class_list":["post-11141","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-obituaries","tag-obit"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11141","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11141"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11141\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11141"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=11141"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=11141"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
