{"id":10579,"date":"2023-12-07T11:02:48","date_gmt":"2023-12-07T16:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=10579"},"modified":"2023-12-07T11:02:49","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T16:02:49","slug":"bellmonts-seven-game-streak-ends-at-luers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/07\/bellmonts-seven-game-streak-ends-at-luers\/","title":{"rendered":"Bellmont&#8217;s seven-game streak ends at Luers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By DEAN JACKSON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<strong><br><\/strong><\/em>FORT WAYNE &#8211; Sometimes it is just one of those nights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter how hard you work, things just don&#8217;t go your way.<br>Grit can only get you so far.<br>No amount of work would change Bellmont&#8217;s fortune, as the Braves dropped a 43-34 decision to Bishop Luers Wednesday.<br>The loss snaps a seven-game winning streak for the Braves (7-2).<br>\u201cIt happens in basketball,\u201d Bellmont coach Andy Heim said. \u201cThat&#8217;s what we talked about (after the game). There are times when we&#8217;re not going to shoot the ball well. I can&#8217;t imagine what our shooting percentage was. The difference was that they were making some shots and we weren&#8217;t making any shots.&#8221;<br>&#8220;The people that were in\u2014I thought all of them battled well. Kamryn Jarvis chipped in with eight points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addie Shank scored 12 points for the Knights [6-2]. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bishop Luers opened the third quarter, igniting a 12-5 run in 5:29 to go up 31-24 late in the third quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bellmont would never recover.
