McKinley, 93, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was born on October 31, 1929 in New Haven, Indiana to the late Robert L. Gulley and the late Jeanette&nbsp;(Mausness) Harding. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dixie was united in marriage to Eldon Wayne McKinley on June 18, 1950 at St. Paul Church in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on August 5, 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School, class of 1948. &nbsp;She was a member of Decatur Church of God and the OES Chapter in Huntington for over 50 years. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dixie assisted her husband with the lumber yard, and Eldon called her his \u2018girl Friday\u2019. &nbsp;She was also employed in retail sales at Ball Stores in Muncie and Savory in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dixie loved traveling with her husband Eldon, and driving their 1953 and 1956 Packard. &nbsp;She also enjoyed crafts, sewing and cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors include her daughter, Linda Licht of Muncie, Indiana; daughter, Terri (Bob) Adams of Decatur, Indiana; son-in-law, David Wuellner of Florida; sister, Patricia Habegger of Watertown, Connecticut; sister, Elizabeth Koble of Auburn, Indiana; sister, Beatrice (Darrell) Terry of Fort Wayne, Indiana; six grandchildren, Kari (Mark) McBride, Andrew (Kelly) Adams, Brad (Terry) Alley, Christian (Jessica) Wuellner, and Kiel Wuellner; nine great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was preceded in death by daughter, Beth Ann Wuellner; grand-daughter, Courtney Wuellner; and two sons-in-law, James Alley and James Licht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A funeral service for Dixie will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Larry Mitchell officiating. &nbsp;Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials can be given to Wounded Warriors, Shriners Hospital for Children, Decatur Church of God, or Gideons International.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(October 31, 1929 &#8211; April 18, 2023) Dixie L.
