The Starfish pulled off the victory in their home pool Tuesday night, taking out county rival Adams Central in a very competitive meet that drew a large crowd, both on the pool deck and on the observation balcony. South Adams swept the relays to take the meet on the girls’ side of things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Coach Ayres used a new combination in the medley relay, inserting Hannah Scott in the backstroke at the start and it worked, with South Adams setting a new season-best time and winning the event by less than a second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Brooke Thomas (AC) won the 200 Free with a new season-best time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Julia Arnold (SA) cut four seconds from her time last week at Marion to win the IM. Teammate Calah Hill also swam a season best and was second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Kate Moser (AC) tried the butterfly and won the event, swimming a rather impressive time of 1:11.96, faster than any other Adams County swimmer this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Stella McIntire (SA) set a new season best to take third in the Fly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ava Kinsey, who also won the 50, took the 100 for the Starfires by breaking the minute mark for the first time this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Brooke Thomas was second in the 100 for AC and swam her best time of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-South Adams’ first attempt this season to post a competitive time in the 200 Free Relay was successful as they took first place with GenaMarie Summersett, Stella McIntire, Julia Arnold and Ava Kinsey. Kinsey anchored the team to a time of 1:55.65, faster than any time the team clocked last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Kate Moser (AC) set a new season best in winning the backstroke. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Julia Arnold (SA) took the breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:20.38, winning by nearly five seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
