The Bellmont Braves NE8 campaign got off to a good start when the home team came back to beat Columbia City 83-72. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes & Times<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Logan Whitacre made his debut in high school diving and finished with first-place points and a total of 143.25. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The meet also marked the debut of brothers Taufeeq and Taahir Ally, experienced swimmers who grew up in South Africa. they swam together in the team’s B relay team in the medley and took third place along with Gaven Pritchard and Samson Owens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Three freshmen swam the 200 for the Braves, with Whitacre clocking the best time and taking second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Oliver Werling scored a strong performance in the IM and won by 18 seconds. His time was just six seconds from his time in last year’s sectional finals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Hudson Krull, a freshman who had a great XC season, showed real potential in a third-place finish in the 50, clocking a time of 25.80. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Zayne Roop turned in a good performance to win the Fly, beating out his lone Columbia City competitor by more than three seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Werling swam a career best in the backstroke, missing out on first place by just .13 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Hudson Krull finished second in the breaststroke, but his time was faster than any attempt the Braves had last season. The freshmen finished in 1:09.99.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
