Franke"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.batesvilletechnology.com\/fh_live\/15900\/15910\/images\/obituaries\/8763705.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:203px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Geraldine K. \u201cGerry\u201d Franke, 74, of Monroeville, Ind. died Saturday morning, November 25, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gerry was born September 15, 1949 in Decatur, Ind. to the late Reinhard Franke and the late Vera (Hormann) Franke.<br>&nbsp;<br>She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church \u2013 Flatrock and a member of the Hoagland Lions Club and the Advisory Board for Madison Township in Allen County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>With a very social personality and a kind heart, Gerry loved serving friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and being a great aunt.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gerry retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne and then Regal Beloit. After retirement, she worked at Adams Heritage Nursing Home in Monroeville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gerry is lovingly survived by her brother, Tom (Tina) Franke of Monroeville; nieces &amp; nephews &nbsp; &nbsp;Samantha (Cary) Shaffer of Decatur, Derek Franke of Monroeville, and Jessica Franke of Monroeville; great-nephews, Kyle and Ross Shaffer of Decatur; uncle, Bob Bowen of Decatur; and many cousins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older sister, Phyllis Franke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church \u2013 Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating.
