Several reappointments were made and two titles were changed as Decatur City Council wrapped up 2025 with its final meeting of the year.
The mayor named Ron Storey, John Summers and Jeremy Friedt to new one-year terms on the city’s redevelopment commission.
Another mayoral reappointment saw Josh Zimmerman gain another one-year term on the Adams County Regional Sewer District board.

City council reappointments saw Aaron Rhymer and Craig Russett receive one-year extensions on the redevelopment commission.
Council also named Zimmerman for another four-year term on the Decatur Advisory Plan Commission.
All the new terms begin January 1.
Also beginning the first of the year, Zimmerman’s title with the city will be that of infrastructure superintendent and Matt Schultz will be the street and sanitation superintendent.
Schultz recently was named operations manager to replace Jeremy Gilbert, who resigned.
However, Mayor Dan Rickord said earlier that he wanted to divide some of the duties Gilbert had. So Schultz gets the new title and a parks and recreation superintendent will be hired.
