It’s hardly a secret that dismissal time at the Bellmont High School campus is something to avoid, if at all possible.
But one business owner recently talked with Decatur City Council about the possibility of finding any solutions to the traffic woes.

Steve Christner, owner of Christner’s Pizza King located on Monroe St. near the Stratton Addition entrance, told council, “When school lets out there, it’s chaos.
“It’s impossible (for his delivery drivers) to get out (of the business) and go west.”
Christner asked if the city had any ideas of adding a traffic light in the area.
Mayor Dan Rickord said INDOT (Indiana Department of Transportation) has told the city “absolutely not.”
The mayor noted that the state recently made some changes in the traffic lights at North Adams Drive, Jackson St. and US 224.
He added that the city will contact INDOT “to see if anything can be done.”
