On Sunday October 5, 2025 the Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious Personal Injury motorcycle crash on CR 1200N near US 27.
Tyler E. Richards, age 24 of Fort Wayne, was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle traveling eastbound, when he lost control. From evidence observed at the scene, it appeared as though the motorcycle had just crested a slight hill crest in the roadway prior to entering a curve and was traveling at a high rate of speed when Richards locked up the brakes for approximately 50 yards. It appears the motorcycle then teetered from side to side before being laid down on its side and continuing to skid until leaving the roadway. The motorcycle, with Richards lying nearby, came to rest in a grassy area near a farm field entrance.
A passing motorist came upon the accident and called emergency personnel. Richards was found to have been alone on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. Richards was taken to a Fort Wayne Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Allen Co Sheriff’s Dept. and by Southwest Fire and EMS.
The investigation is still ongoing.
