Nancy L. Gerber, 85, of Bluffton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 20, 2025, at her residence.
Nancy was born in Bluffton on Oct. 19, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight Shady and Mae (Heller) Seyfert. Nancy married Linus R. Gerber in Bluffton on Feb. 15, 1959. He preceded her in death on Apr. 22, 1999.

A 1958 graduate of Lancaster Central High School, Nancy was a long-time member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She started her career at RSM in Bluffton, where she worked for several years and later served as the office administrator for Gerber Bros. Super Value from 1970 until 1999.
For many years Nancy enjoyed traveling with her husband and also enjoyed spending time with her family at Lake Wawasee and Marco Island. She loved cooking and hosting her family at her home, and also enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren at their various activities.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Jenkins of Ossian and Jill (Mark) Middaugh of Auburn; a son, Jarrod (Amy) Gerber of Bluffton; eight grandchildren, Chad (Lindsey) Jenkins, Benjamen (Jordann) Jenkins, Megan Middaugh, Jacob (Leena) Middaugh, Bradley Middaugh (fiancée Samantha Onesti), Isaac Gerber, Caleb Gerber, and Audrey Gerber; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Gomez of Fort Wayne and Terri (Gary) Worden of Brownsburg; and a half-brother, Scott Garvin of Fort Wayne.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Gearhart and Marcia Blair; a half-brother, Todd Garvin; and her step-mother, Dorothy Shady.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, from 2:00 until 7:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church, with visitation from 9:00 until 9:45 AM, prior to the service. Jeff Leman and Ryan Bertsch will officiate. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.
