Volleyball was back in the Teepee Tuesday night and it felt like old times with Bishop Dwenger and the Bellmont Braves clashing over four outstanding sets of high school volleyball, but it was the home Braves who ended up with a 3-1 victory, 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22.

MaryKate Scheumann was the team leader in kills (18), digs (16) and aces (2).

The Braves had just enough to claim both of the first two sets, but Dwenger offered a serious challenge late in the night, forcing a fourth set.
The insertion of Gracie Riggs into the lineup late in the game helped the Braves overcome the challenge.

Averie Coats had 16 digs, while Taylor Sutter added six kills and 13 digs as she continued to settle into her spot as the Braves’ No. 2 option this season behind the Purdue-bound MaryKate Scheumann.

The Braves will play Dwenger’s diocesan counterparts, Bishop Luers, on the road Thursday night.
