Rosemarie Gaskill, 66, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Adams Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

She was born on February 2, 1959, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Jerry Schwartz and Maggie Pearl (Caperton) Carr. In 1988, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Gaskill, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Rosemarie was employed for many years at Goldshield in Decatur. She was a proud lifetime member of the Eagles Aerie #2653 and also a member of the Moose Lodge #1311. She will be remembered for her warm heart, strong spirit, and the deep love she had for her family and community.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Robert Gaskill; her son James Caperton and his wife Jessica Caperton; her bonus children: Katie Gaskill Payne (OH), Charity Schwartz (Decatur, IN), Richard Scott Payne (OH), Amy Gordon (Kendallville, IN), and Amanda Wickline (Kendallville, IN); her siblings: Jerry Caperton, Betty Sollman, Sue Carr, Stanley Carr, and Larry Carr; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
In accordance with Rosemarie’s wishes, a celebration of her life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Eagles Aerie #2653, 1039 S. 11th St., Decatur, IN 46733.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Eagles Aerie #2653.
