Decatur’s annual Fourth of July fireworks show will be held one day earlier this year, on Thursday, July 3.
The Chamber of Commerce has combined this year’s event with a weekly edition of the Summer Concert Series, featuring Proud Mary CCR, a tribute band.
The concert and all the Fourth activities, including honoring military veterans, will be held at Riverside Center.
Proud Mary will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Riverside parking lot.

The National Anthem will follow shortly after 9, followed by the Color Guard of Adams Post 43, American Legion, honoring fallen veterans in a special ceremony.
Fireworks by 50 Cal Fireworks will start lifting off around 10.
No admission will be charged. Various foods will be for sale and adult beverages will be available from The Oasis Pub.
FIVE: Proud Mary CCR, a five-man band, plays the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

The band is comprised of Billy Staniski on guitar, Stu Throne on guitar and harmonica, Jeff Dhaenens on bass, Rick Vogelsong on drums, and Scott Dean as lead vocalist.
“These guys have collectively garnered years of rocking band experience, perfecting their craft …,” it says on the band’s website.
Among its selections are famed CCR songs like “Proud Mary” and “Fortunate Son.”
Thursday will begin a busy weekend for the band, which is scheduled to play the Celina, Ohio, Eagles on Friday and at Howie’s in Hamilton, Indiana, on Saturday.
