A month-long workshop at the MERIT Center in Decatur will aim to uplift and empower small businesses in Adams County, according to an announcement by Patti Hogg, center coordinator.
Experts from the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (NIIC), the MERIT Center and Adams County Economic Development will host the workshop starting on Wednesday, June 11.

Current and aspiring entrepreneurs can take their businesses and ideas to the next level through four sessions, according to the announcement.
The workshop will be held on Wednesdays from June 11 to July 2, with sessions scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The announcement said each session will focus on an area key to success: the basics, understanding consumers, business finances and putting the lessons into practice.
While there is a $100 fee to participate, those who attend and complete the entire series will receive $50 back.

FINDING FRAUD: Also at the MERIT Center, ProFed Credit Union will present a workshop on fraud and scams, how to detect them.
This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about possible scams and how to avoid them, Hogg said.
The free program on June 12 at 5:30 p.m. is open to the public and ProFed will be suppling light snacks.
