Decatur’s second annual Golf Cart Parade, along with Decatur Main Street’s Downtown Decatur Day, are scheduled for Saturday, June 21.
The golf cart event will leave Riverside Center at 10 a.m. that day, travel on the Greenway Trail, then go on Second St. to downtown, where Downtown Decatur Day’s festivities will be going on.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. Pre-parade registration may be done at Riverside Center, beginning May 29.
Entry fee is $20 per cart, with all proceeds going to the Mayor’s Youth Council.
One or two golf carts will receive prizes. Adults will select their favorite cart and, in a separate vote, youngsters will pick their favorite.

The voting will be held at 10:30 a.m. during Downtown Decatur Day.
DOWNTOWN:The annual Downtown Decatur Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is no charge to attend.
Many of the events will be held on Madison St. between Second and Third streets, and some will be held on the plaza.
A number of downtown stores will be open that Saturday.
“The event schedule will be available to pick up at our Main Street booth to take with you while you shop, eat, and enjoy the day,” the organization said in a statement.
Razz M’ Jazz and Turns On 2 dance studios will have separate performances and a Little Miss Decatur pageant is scheduled. Also on the schedule are “meet and greets” with Cinderella and Spiderman, and a magic show presented by Jim Barrow.
Decatur Main Street said it is still accepting vendors.
“So if you or anyone you know would like to show their stuff along Second St., please send them our way,” the organization said.
