Retired Decatur firefighter Tim Bauman was recently honored at a Fort Wayne Komets game with the announcement that he had been named a Hoosier Hero.
The announcement included a photo of Bauman on the Memorial Coliseum’s video board.
The Hoosier Lottery and Komets honor Hoosier Heroes throughout the season via the lottery’s Community Impact Award.
The award honors firefighters, police officers and teachers.
Bauman retired from the Decatur Fire Department on Sept. 1, 2021, after a 42-year career as a firefighter.
