Jeanne E. (Laird) Weaver, 78, of Berne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Parkview Randallia Hospice Care in Fort Wayne. Jeanne was born on September 18, 1946 to Robert and Cartha (Barnes) Laird. Jeanne grew up in Angola with her parents and two siblings, Janice (Laird) Green and David Laird, and graduated Angola High School.
Jeanne’s first love was her family and most enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her second passion in life was her love for animals. Jeanne especially enjoyed horses, both owning and showing them, and dogs, of which she had many in her lifetime. Jeanne also spent several years as a volunteer at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, sharing her passion with zoo guests. Jeanne’s third love in life was her vegetable garden and potted flowers and plants. She spent many summers tending her garden and plants, sharing this love with both her daughter and granddaughter.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, A. Wayne Weaver; her daughter Jessica (Chris) Faurote; stepchildren Kirk (Kim) Weaver, Dawn (Bob) Taylor, Jeremy (Leslie) Weaver; brother David Laird; grandchildren Sydney Faurote (Phil Zwart), Christopher Faurote (fiancée, Kirsten Lepper), Vince (Tiffany) Faurote; and great-grandchildren Tori, Nolan, and Jack.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cartha (Barnes) Laird; her sister, Janice (Laird) Green.
Per Jeanne’s wishes, there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws of Adams County or Lennox’s Legacy Rescue.
Arrangements were entrusted to Liechty Funeral Home, Berne, Indiana.
