Rosalie A. Gase, 84, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Envive Healthcare of Berne. She was born in Decatur, IN, on May 25, 1940, the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Mary A. (Meyer) Voglewede. On June 11, 1960, she married Robert W. “Bob” Gase and he preceded her death on December 31, 2008.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and a member of the St. Mary’s Choir. She was a 1958 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School.
Rosalie worked for 20 years as the Deputy for the Adams County Building and Planning Department. She enjoyed playing in various card clubs in Decatur.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Anne) Gase of Decatur; her daughter, Debra Gase of Ft. Wayne; her granddaughter, Noelle Gase; brother, Jerry (Carolyn) Voglewede of Decatur. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jim, John, and Don Voglewede and 2 sisters, Mary Ann Nartker and Joan Heimann.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with the reciting of the Holy Rosary at 2:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Ruppert presiding. Calling will also be 1 hour prior to Mass from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
