Continued dry conditions have led the Adams County Commissioners to extend a burn ban in Adams County until further notice. Acting on the request of local police agencies and all fire chiefs in Adams County, the County Commissioners Tuesday extended the ban, which covers all of Adams County, both rural areas as well as cities and towns. The burn ban will allow small fires in yards or campgrounds that are within 15 feet of a water source, are inside a fire ring or fire pit, and have someone watching them at all times.
Meanwhile, Adams County Sheriff Dan Mawhorr has received permission from the Commissioners to investigate using the old Golden Meadows Home as a police training facility. WZBD’s Ed Thurman spoke with the Sheriff about what he has in store for the facility, which closed earlier this year…
Sheriff Mawhorr says Golden Meadows could be used for any number of things for his department.
