Qualifiers have been determined for the 2024 Highland games in Decatur.
The annual event sponsored by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce will be held at Riverside Park (behind Riverside Centrer) on Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
A number of other activities will be held during the day and food vendors will be on hand.
Divisions for women (17 qualifiers) and men (15 qualifiers) will be held, with the following events: 1, Hammer throw. 2. Weight for distance. 3. Putting the stone. 4. Weight for height.
Also, a caber toss will be held for the men and a bays and barrels event for the women.

This year’s top qualifiers are last year’s winners: Gabby Birch and Neil Henning.
Birch, a first-time entrant, dominated winning the women’s division, capturing four of five events and setting three new records. Kristy Rolston was second and Lisa Pilgram third.
Henning had a strong day, topping the men’s division. Isaac Birch placed second and Mason Murphy third.
