A scary scenario developed Friday morning when a Jay County school bus was hit from behind by a garbage truck, sending one student to the hospital.
The incident occurred in downtown Redkey and involved a vehicle that was on its normal trash pickup route for Waste Management. The time of the collision was roughly 7:50 a.m.
Five students on the bus were injured when the garbage truck rear-ended the school bus. One student was sent to Ball Memorial Hospital for more serious injuries.
