It was a hot and muggy night on the Majorki Nine at Cross Creek on Monday night with a trio of varsity teams hitting the links in Decatur. Playing an extremely talented Concordia team and an incomplete Canterbury squad, the Bellmont Braves played against themselves and their previous best round on the same nine holes and played some of their best golf of the season, finishing with a respectable 183.
The young Braves were led by No. 1 Ella Hockemeyer, who shot 39, her best score of the year.
“She’s put together a few solid rounds in a row now,” noted head coach Mike Macke about his ace.
Morgan Huss also played, well shooting in the 40s for the first time in a nine-hole match.

Ava Billman may have had the best round of anyone with her 48 and that comes after a solid day this Saturday at Stonehenge, where she posted her best 18-hole round (117).
The Braves will not play Tuesday due to the heat, with the match at Maple Grove in Huntington pushed back to September.
